The Deputy Governor’s first 5k run walk has helped raise more than $12,000 for a new Hospice Care building. Governor Helen Kilpatrick and Deputy Governor Hon. Franz Manderson hosted a reception ceremony to thank all those who helped to put on the race. Watch video

As a result of its success, the inaugural Deputy Governor’s 5K Challenge has been set become an annual event. Six hundred and seventy-five runners and walkers registered for the event, which raised $12,500 towards a new Hospice Care facility. At a reception hosted by the Governor on Thursday, 3 July 2014, Mrs Helen Kilpatrick praised Deputy Governor Hon Franz Manderson for the achievement, and promised to walk next year.
